I am about to put 4.10s and lockers in my not so stock KJ as you can see by my signiture i am quite heavy being a CRD and only about 2 pieces of armor left to buy or make. But my MPGs are dropping every bit of wieght I put on it.

So questions

1) Will this help or hinder my MPGs?

2) What gears should i buy?

I'm running 32" tires. Switching to 4.10's put the shift points back to what they were when I was running stock size tires. Having the shift points back where they were means running at 1600-1800 rpm at 45 and 55 again which will save fuel. The heavier you make it the more fuel you will use to get it all rolling. Not much you can do about that.

Everything stock I was getting around 22 MPG with 50/50 mix driving. Now lifted on 245/75 MTRs, GDE tune, RL roof rack with 4 lights mounted on it, ARB bumper w/ winch, and 4.10 gears I am still getting 21-22 MPG. Got one tank of 24 coming out Colorado this week. Not as high as some claim but I am pretty pleased with what I am getting. The lowest I got was 16 on the tank I used wheeling around Ouray for a couple days. I was pleased I never had to fill in Ouray for the $4.49/gallon cost. Filled for "normal" price in Montrose on the way in and Durango on the way out.
