I just started planning my summer trip to Alaska. I’m driving my RV and towing my Jeep from San Diego to Alaska for the summer and I’m staying until the snow starts. I’m attending a wedding in mid June in the SF area and then I’m heading north.

Is there an active club that I could meet up with?
I’m more interested in nature and scenic trails then major off roading but could be talked into most any run.

If I could get a contact so I can plan to be in the area of one of your events that would be great.
Thanks for any help.
Dave

Check out Arctic Offroad. They are a 4x4 club based here in Fairbanks Alaksa. http://www.arcticoffroad.com/

There are several trails through out Alaska, but 2 of my favorate are:

1. Boulder Creek Trail - recently featured in Petersons 4Wheel & Offroad

2. Stampede Trail - Featured in the Book / Movie Into the Wild. I have yet to make it all the way back the the bus in my liberty, but it is a fun trail none the least.

Other Points of Intrest:
If it is open, the Denali Highway is always a beautiful drive. On a clear day you can see McKinley from just about every where. It's a rough road, but passable with a standard RV.

Copper Valley & Kennikot Copper mine.

Just a couple of suggestions...
