Since I have no friends, I decided to enter my Jeep in the show and perhaps make some. The off road park at Miller Motorsports Park is brand new and I believe it's great. Here are some shots of the park and some rigs.
When you register, you're supposed to grab the placard for you category. I looked and I saw Classic, Street TJ, Trail TJ, Street JK, Trail JK and so on; no KJ so I had to sign up under 4WD & SUV. I guess I was OK with having a generic category in a Jeep show since I was the ONLY KJ for miles.
I took a picture of my KJ since this is the cleanest it's been since Jan 2007:
I will add action shots when peeps start posting them. There were lots of photos taken on the course since people love to see a train wreck!
Here's the damage I suffered, nothing a can of Rustoleum Hammered wont fix:
When it came time for trophies, they brought out a table full of them. There were lots of small trophies representing 1 first, 2nd & 3rd in each class and four rather large ones. I know one of them was "People's Choice" but I had no clue what the others were for. As all the trophies were given out, I was waiting for them to get to my category but all the small ones were given out. I was like WTF, there's no trophies for my category?
Then after everyone's photos were taken, they started with the big trophies. The first one was for "Best Expedition Vehicle"....... there was a moment of silence ...... 2006 Jeep Liberty and my name was called!
I still wonder why they made a category that there was no trophy for. There were a lot of non- Jeep vehicles registered so I imagine other people were bummed, but not me..... not this day!
