After viewing the images (here and on Jayme's Facebook album). I'm wondering what makes this place "insane"? Some of you posted basic or recommended requirements to wheel there, but I don't see why (especially regarding the KJ's) anything insanely technical from these photos. Looked like a good time, none the less.

callaway, what was up with the overheating issues? (cj looks good btw).

This was a really, really dry day - when it's rained, even a little, this place can be a nasty nightmare

First I had a hose that melted, then after replacing the hose, noticed a crack at the fill neck. Also don't think the radiator is allowing coolant to cycle like it should... the temp climbed way too quickly...

Thanks ! It felt good to actually have it out and running 8)

Sounds like it's time for a new radiator. I'd go with Be-Cool aluminum.

couldn't find it

the tires would stuff under the rear fenders and they are too big and i might need to add an inch back there and bump stops because they were shredding the flairs right off...but i came out with a nice amount of scratched from going through a thorn tree to make my girlfriend laugh

I had a great time yesterday.
Thanks to Jayme, Rob, and Steve for making a day of it.
Just got back from the do it-to it carwash.
1/2 hour and a roll of quarters and it looks like this:

Image

Image

didn't even happen.
It took 15 minutes just cleaning out the wheel wells.
I hve some kind of new sound (exhaust?)
but I don't think it's serious.

I'm just glad nobody broke anything,
at least that the traveling parts house
didn't have with them!

I look forward to next year when I have rails
and the mud levels are a little drier.
I found it interesting driving up a creek without a paddle.

I especially like this pic! I was feeling the "pucker factor" looking
at nothing but sky.

:D :D :D :D

Great pics everyone! I had been thinking along the same lines as Jerry - you guys scared me off with "almost certain" body damage Yeah, I'm a wimp! I like keeping my Jeep relatively intact. If we get a dry spell next year, I'd be willing to give it a go.

Tom - check out the "detail shop" thread in the Illinois section - the guy does great work for a great price!

FWIW, the only reason I didn't go was because I'm not lifted yet.

The extra 3 inches running in the creek had to say something.
Even lifted there was a fair amont of "rocky" noises under there.
