Up again just before the sun came up in effort to shoot the sunrise, but it continued to be more cloudy than I'd hoped for. I shot a few images for HDR purposes later, but I haven't processed them yet - they're last. What I did see that morning...

The plan was to stick around town till about mid-day, and then we would continue our travels west while JL returned back to Salt Lake. With that in mind, we opted to play a little bit of the tourist card and cruise through Arches National Park. But first, we came back out of "The Spot" again by way of Long Canyon.

We toured Arches, and stopped in a few places... like Park Avenue

We did drive out to Delicate Arch, but because time was fleeting we did not take the long hike up to the upper viewing deck. Instead we traveled back out to the highway by way of the Willow Flats road... a gravel/dirt/rock road. And one final hurrah with JL at Pasta Jay's before we went our separate ways! It was great to see him again, and we had a great time. :D

The original idea would be to head out of Moab about noon or 1:00pm in hopes of arriving in Las Vegas that night. But tooling around Arches and stopping in town one last time for lunch put us behind schedule. We didn't leave Moab until after 2:30pm. But we opted to see how far we could make it.

More views along I-70...

Just before reaching our interchange at I-15, I'd pulled off the highway in search of fuel... only to discover that my power steering pump had died somewhere between Moab and our current location. We weren't really in a place where we could look into it further, so we chose to continue into a bigger town where we could take a closer look.

We landed in the town of Beaver, UT... found fuel, and confirmed that the power steering pump was indeed dearly departed - including the wonderful spray of ATF+4 all over the underside of the hood. We decided to find a room for the night instead of camping in the Jeep... that way we could use the interwebz to try to source a new part (and get showers!). We both did some research online before turning in that night, and Aaron took down the phone numbers of the parts stores in town so that he could call in the morning.

Fantastic photos, Jayme! Can't wait for Day 4... Have been showing the pics to my wife, whose sister is an artist/photographer/graphic designer, so she knows a good picture when she sees one. She thinks your photos are amazing! :D
