Overall it was a great trip, my breakage was a little more than I had intended (messed up my tranny, and it claimed a front caliper) A stock TJ on 30's is pretty capable! Anyway heres some photos..

All and all I had a really great time, just cost me a little more than I had intended but thats part of wheeling right? I hope you enjoyed the photos, might be awhile before I'm able to get back out..

*note* some photo's belong to JeepFrog, just so she gets credit..

How did you manage to mess up your tranny?

That one hole you see the pass side of my jeep sunk in, well water entered the trans that way. I limped it home with only first and second gear (its a 3 speed auto) and pulled it in the garage, did a flush and dropped the pan and did a filter change. So far everything is somewhat back to normal and it drives normal. However you can tell its still kinda upset about the whole deal.

Oh boy. I'm guessing that's the hole you messed up the caliper as well?

BTW great pics! :JEEPIN:

Not sure about the caliper, I'm guessing its a factory caliper, so I'm sure the mud did it in. I didn't noticed that until a couple days after the trip when I smelled "hot" brakes. When I got home I felt each wheel and sure enough the drivers side front rim was HOT. At least its an easy fix..

and it was a nice day to work on it.. trans pan pulled after flushing and replacing the filter.
Image
new filter on..
Image
The empty ATF jugs and some of the old crappy fluid (mixed in with used engine oil, no the engine oil did not come out of the trans lol)

Great Photos, Jeeper & JeepFrog! :JEEPIN: I enjoyed reading your narrative too. I hope you get all the bugs worked out of your tranny. Turns out I'm not far from Bundy Hill this week. I'm in Brooklyn MI visiting the family. They have a driveway and a garage (unlike me at home) so I've been able to refurbish my rusty rock sliders and roof rack.
