I just got emailed an Action Alert from the Washington Off Highway Vehicle Alliance (WOHVA) letting us know about the WOHVA ORV/OHV Rally happening in March.
The rally is scheduled for March 13, 2009, at the State Capitol Building in Olympia. Speakers start at noon.

Please pass this important alert on to your friends and family, and please ask them to take action as well.

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

Attention Nevada Recreationists!

Located in central Nevada, the Austin and Tonopah Ranger Districts of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest are preparing an Environmental Assessment for Austin and Tonopah Combined Travel Management Project. The Notice of Proposed Action (NOPA) was published (legal notice) in the Battle Mountain Bugle on March 4, 2009.

A description of the Proposed Action and a summary of the potential effects of the Proposed Action is available for review on the Humboldt-Toiyabe web site at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/htnf/projects/#austin.

Please keep in mind that any road or trail not on the final map will be CLOSED! The FS says it this way:
"Following issuance of this decision, all roads and trails designated for motor vehicle use would be identified on a motor vehicle use map. Motor vehicle use that is not consistent with the designations on the map will be prohibited under the terms of 36 CFR 261.13."

The Forest Service encourages your comments on this proposed action, along with supporting reasons, for consideration by the responsible official in reaching a decision. Comments should include the information required pursuant to 36 CFR 215.6(a)(3), as published in the Federal Register on June 4, 2003. Your comments will be used to help complete the environmental analysis and make a decision on the proposed action and any alternatives. If you would prefer to receive a CD or a hard copy of the document, please contact the Austin Ranger District at (775)964-2671.

TODAY February 16th, President Obama will deliver remarks at the White House on the America's Great Outdoors initiative.
If you have been a BRC Action Alert Subscriber, you will remember that President Obama established the America's Great Outdoors initiative on April 16, 2010, and charged the Secretaries of the Departments of the Interior and Agriculture, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality to develop a "21st century conservation and recreation strategy based on the priorities of American communities."
