Post subject:  Rhode Island beach use

Found out about off road vehicle use on RI beaches:

(For anyone in the North East region)

I think you still need Barrier Beach Permit: (required for driving on any RI State Barrier Beach or access road). Permits are valid from July 1st through June 30th of the following year and must be renewed.

Residents & Non-Residents [ based on where the vehicle is registered ]

Residents - $100.00 per year Non-Residents - $200.00 per year

Below is a list of places where Off-Road vehicle use is permitted

REMEMBER: TO USE A VEHICLE ON A PERMISSIBLE BEACH IN RI, A PERMIT IS REQUIRED!!

BLOCK ISLAND-----------------------Vehicles are allowed year round on
State, Scotch, and Mansion Beaches (i.e. “East Beach”) via Corn Neck Road, but are restricted in the summer season to 6pm to 8am. Access to the North Light is available year road via Sachem Pond.

BRISTOL---------------------------------NO ORDINANCE

CHARLESTOWN-----------------------NO VEHICLES ALLOWED from April 1-
Sept. 15. After Sept. 15, 4 points are accessible, via Ninigret Conservation Area.

MIDDLETOWN-------------------------NO ORDINANCE

TIVERTON------------------------------ NO ORDINANCE

WESTERLY----------------------------- No vehicles allowed May 1 thru Labor Day. Quononchotaug is privately owned—no
vehicles on beach face or dunes. The right-of-way points consist of: (1) Manatuck Avenue, off of Ocean View Highway, (2) Atlantic Avenue (dead end), off of Maplewood Avenue, (3) Everett Avenue, off of Niantic Avenue, and (4) Niantic Avenue.
