Here's a few pics of my home built drawers that I started last Thursday arvo after ducking out of work early for the Easter break!

I was in Bunnings and saw these plastic drawers on the shelf that looked about the right size for the back of the KJ, and thought to myself I could knock something up accomodate them and my fridge - you will all know how space is at a premium in the rear of the KJ.

A half hour later walked out of Bunnings with all the materials needed for about $90 all up. Got all the gear home and started work, the pics are in chronological order, and pretty self explanatory.

Basically they are 16mm MDF, screwed and glued, then the plastic drawers bolted under the wooden framework. After all the cutting, planing and assembly, I waterproofed the MDF with some clear varnish I had, then hit it with a couple of coats of satin black enamel in a spray can.

Made a couple of straps to secure the Waeco battery and my recovery kit, and also mounted the Waeco fridge 'frame' that holds it in place.

Hope you like the results!

Very nice set up!

I love the lengths a proud Australian will go to keep his beer cold.

Cheers!

I love the battery hold down bolts you used to anchor it, must be easy to remove and install.

You have enough space back there to relocate the stock battery or mount a second battery...very nice 8)

its a cigarette/hella outlet for my fridge - its a prouct available from www.waeco.com.au - you wire it up to the battery directly, it has 6mm cables coming from it which prevents voltage drop. Much better for running the fridge than connecting it to the socket in the back of the KJ.

That is just top notch. It looks like it's a lot lighter than many of the other storage systems and quickly removable. What kind oif seat covers are those?
