MAN, you've got ba11s. so you're running without the liners? No worries about daily driving issues of rock salt, dirt, etc? The rear fuel lines are exposed. No worries?

My rears stuff and rub. I could probably do nicely with the added clearance myself.

I don't like the rear fuel lines being exposed, when I get some time again (lol) I'll be putting some sort of shield around them. It is nice to have the wells out since I get a little more stuff when I have my bigger tires on. Not much, but every inch (or 1/2") counts on our rigs!

I also went through and looked for holes that the fender linings had covered. I used some silicon to get the small ones. I'd like to get some more liner protection eventually, but right now it isn't an issue for me as long as I can clean it up. IMO the trapped mud/water is a lot more dangerous than the open wells.

I don't have any salt to worry about here in Arizona :) I was worried about the amount of mud/water that got deposited above the liners. If you do have salt/bad weather in your area- I'd REALLY reccommend taking the liners out after the season and steam cleaning- the liners trap that stuff right where it doesn't need to be! You guys up North are probably familiar with all that undercoating/liner in the snow- my Grandpa/uncles from Minnesota swore by the stuff (POR 15 maybe?), they said it added some great corrosion protection on their vehicles.

can you get the liners out easily? Don't you have to remove the flares and all the plastic rivets every time?

Awesome work, that sucker looks good and mean!

Anyone tried taking that cut line all the way across the front?

I cracked the center part of my bumper, right where my license plate is. I was going to replace it with a new OE bumper, but my father and I recently took a Sawzall to the center part edges (the area of the 2nd tone in Calvin's Renedage bumper). We found out that behind that plastic is more plastic (shock absorber?) and then metal which is attached to the frame. We plan on eventually taking the entire center section off and putting something in there ourselves. We're talking diamond plate at least, and maybe some steel tubing...obviously custom work. After that, I was thinking of cutting the so far untouched foglight area, sawing off a horizontal line below the signal, cutting the flares as well and relocating the wiper-fluid reservoir.
I want to do the cutting in the fog light area for better tire clearance, better approach angle, and a more aggressive look. I got 245/75 Firestone M/Ts on my Liberty today and am experiencing minor rubbing at full lock on either the air dam or an area near the foglight doors. This may be due to the fact that I wasn't able to get an alignment in the same day :( so it's still all messed up in the front from me installing the Frankenlift.

It was time for the third set of tires on my Liberty
I COPIED Calvin56 and used his idea and now run 265/75/16 with no problem. There is a slight rub on
the sway bar it is the same when I ran 245/70/16so I dont cut it as hard I used 2 cans of spray liner and you dont see that the finder well liner is gone I dont like where the winshel wiper bottle goes.it hits the air filter
Thanks for the idea Calvin56

I bought a radiator overflow bottle at a parts store; trashed the original one from the front fenderwell.

Ok, I added a picture of the lining- hopefully you can get an idea of the texture from the pic.

I chose my cutting line based on the plastic frame underneath. I cut it so that it would form a bottom for the pieces I cut off, you might be able to see it in this pic:

So, did you spray all 4 wheel wells? What parts did you spray? just the body colored parts or everything up under each side? I guess I was hoping to see more angles of what you sprayed and where.

I coated the entire inside of each wheelwell. I covered equipment like the a-arms, bushings, brakes, etc; but every part of the flat body surrounding the wheelwell is covered.

With the cuts that Calvin did you really don't have to move the bottle, only protect it. It sits behind that right nerf--unless it's in a different spot on the CRD.

I have the fender liner off right now, and the bottle is sitting right out in the open on the pass side in the front bumper. its totally exposed. unless I figure out some way to cover it. you cant miss it

I also just noticed that with the front fender liners off, there is nothing to put the plastic rivets back into. Is that a big deal? It seems now that the fender flares wont be as sturdy????

At some point you need to make your own decisions as to what you want. There are tradeoffs to everything you're doing to that KJ.

The fenders have plenty to hang on too. I drive on the freeway 30 miles both ways everyday, and I haven't noticed so much as a rattle. All the pictures I have are on my cardomain site. I can take some more sometime after Monday- its in the shop getting a Detroit Tru-track right now... too bad Tucson was all out of axle seals friday :(
