Even those Chinese presses can do a lot. I have to run over to my friends when I need to use one. I do have an anvil. Mine is old and was broken. Yep you can break an anvil. My Daddy Don found it for me, so it has sentimental value. |

I have a HF anvil that is loose on the welding table. It's nice for banging things to what ever shape you want. It looks like you got a nice one. Any markings on it? |

We have the bf's grandfather's anvil in our basement - looks like that one. Weighs a frickin' ton… Comes in really handy when you need something like that. |

Yeah, I have lived in some pretty scary places. Windows that seemed open when they were closed. Floors that were unlevel, more suitable for a funhouse. plumbing that had so much crud built up that you couldn't push a pencil in. Furnaces that I couldn't afford to fire up. Been there, done that! |

I looked closer at it this morning and it says 'TRENTON' in a diamond shape on the side along with '72' and a ser number on the foot. It weighs 72 Lbs and the top is nice and flat. I googled around and it turns out this is an old American made anvil from Columbus Ohio! Considering I paid $200 for everything I think I did pretty well. I'll clean it up and see if I can look up the serial number when I have time.

Got the redesigned rear done today. The tire carrier has been put off for now, but I will eventually build it. More pics after paint.

Found the steel to rig together a press brake. Its not the prettiest thing but it works. I may have kicked myself though because now I can't find the right springs that fit over the 1" tube guides. I have springs that's work for 3/4" but I'd have to hack it up and redo the guides.  It easily bent this full width 19" piece of 10 ga (0.1345") with about a 7/8" radius. If I want a tighter radius I read that i can stack smaller pieces of angle iron in the bottom die.

ANOTHER NEW SHOP TOY! I've wanted a plasma cutter for a long time now. I'm sick of the circular saw/bandsaw/angle grinder cutting. They all work ok, but they all have limitations. Picking a cutter was tough, there are cheaper options out there but everyone said Hypertherm is the way to go. After a TON of research I finally landed on the Hypertherm powermax 45. Its a 1/2" cutter, which means it cleanly cuts 1/2" steel, but can sever 1". It just came today and I only had a few min to play with it, but so far it impressed the crap out of me.
