Well when I picked my Surco up from uvalax236 he had a premade shelf just sittin in his garage. Since he got a baddaasssss Rubicon he has no need for it and gave that to me as well, the rack that is. Well tonight I was bored and ran on down to lowes and picked up some angle iron that was already drilled out if you will (don't really know what to call the stuff) I also had to pick up some new tube for the shelf to sit on since the other was a little to thin and rattled like crazy. Well Cut and threw the angle iron up around the edges, but i left the back open so I can gain another inch and a half for sliding stuff in. I plan on taking the angle iron off and sprayining it with some undercoating. Just make sure to file the edges of the cut sections down cause they BITE! I also had my little cargo net still laying around from my passport and now am putting that to use. All in all it is a GREAT mod since my sub box take sup the entire back!!!

I wonder if applying some Dynamat on the underside of the rack would keep it from rattling? Just a thought..

Looks great! One suggestion. Paint the rails grey. Just my personal opinion. Nothing more.

It looks absolutly great but as previously stated paint or some other form of finish is needed. Consider spray on bed liner, or mabybe even better look into plast-dip. It's a product to dip your tool handles in to give a sturdy plastisized coating to get the rubber type grip like the more expensive tools. Using a plastic coating it will give a nice finish, not to mention the look of a customised factory type finish which will always lead to the what company makes this . You already have a real nice design but with the application of a industrial manufacturer look you could have a marketable product sold individually or through chain stores (Auto zone, napa, checker). But by just first look you could have a money making product. :DJust my $.02 cents worth.
