Post subject: | Renegade Decals!!! |
I just bought these Renegade Decals to go on the driver and passenger side of the hood. The company, FastSigns, that I bought them from gave me an extra set at no additional charge! Now it's just a waiting game for the snow/ice crap to quit and to let the installation process begin!http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2132086/6 |

![]() So long becuase I work a day job and do this stuff on the side. I have to wait until a few orders build up, get them cut, and then ship out. I decided to put that on the website becuase a few people have gotten upset when I couldn't ship right away. This way everyone is on the same page from the beginning. |

I used to do the same thing, work a day job and had a new baby and was a plotter as a side buisness also, but 3-4 weeks is nuts, considering you have a design already and just need to plot it. Most people HATE to wait for stuff and will go wherever they can get it fastest, So why not just run like 10 of each and have them on hand to ship right away? Worst case, if they didnt sell you be out only like a foot of vinyl (no big deal) just my 2 cents:wink: What you where running for a plotter and software? BTW your new website looks good |

BTW your new website looks good He doesn't have his own (or didn't). My folks have a GSP Graphics Advantage with a 15", but we uses to have Flexisign and a 30" (vey nice), and a GSP Sprint II (best machine ever made) and a GSP Scanner (both of those were circa 1988 - still running to, I think). I did a lot of this in the past. I may have to think about becoming a front for my folks and let them drop ship to people. Even though they are semi-retired, they don't like orders to age... |

I agree. 3-4 weeks way to long. I have a sign business and 3-4 days is the most. No matter what size order We also do the renegade and other jeep decals and shirts |

Ya, I don't have my own machine, but will in about a month. I have been doing this for about a year now, and it has grown enough to warrant my own equipment. Look for that lead time to go down to under a week real soon. When you have to send it out, you kinda have to wait for a few orders to build up, otherwise you are forever driving back and forth to the guy with the machine and he gets real annoyed cutting 1 decal here and 1 decal there. So, if you consider I let orders build for a week to a week and half, give the guy a few days to cut all my stuff, and then weed and tape it myself, and let the US Snail Mail get it to you, thats how it can get to be 3 weeks. I had to add that disclaimer becuase a couple people got irritated that they didn't get thier orders shipped instantly, so I decided it was better to be up front about it. |

I give you credit for being upfront about it. And you are serving a market that is OK with a long wait, but gets a better price because of it (since your overhead is low). The other guys (and soon you) are taking the folks who are willing to pay a little more to get it faster. If it works for you, great. |

I'm looking at a Roland CAMM-1 GX-24 with whatever software it comes with for now. Probaby will try to get ahold of a copy of flexi at some point. http://www.rolanddga.com/asd/products/cutters/gx24/ |

For renegade decals, i don't usually use any solution. if you are careful, you should be fine. |
