Post subject:  Jack Adaptor and CB Antenna mount

For use with farm type lift jacks (Hi-Lift, etc). This device and a simple piece of wood magically allow you to use a jack without marring your KJ sides or pinch welds.

See: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/683398/7

Note that my email address is now toad40@cox.net if you want a .pdf of the sketch.

Good luck!

Edit: This post also includes info on the CB antenna mount I have...

hey could you post a pic on how you mounted your CB Antenna? I dont want to drill any holes in my KJ where you can see anyway. Right now i have it mounted on my spare tire carrier and its kinda in the way.

I'll try to get a pic - but it's really simple: The Fire Stik mounts I have (one for CB, one for a flag) just mount to the body behind the rear light housings. When you pull the light off there is basically a small stretch of flat area where the antenna mount base plate goes. It's thin enough that when you put the light back on, it fits snuggly.

Are you using the Door Jamb mount for that?

Yup, I've got the doorjamb mounts...

I have my antenna on the outside of the mount (so the antenna is on the outside of the bent mounting plate), but it is possible to mount it on the inside of the mount as well (so the antenna is inside of the bent portion). It's closer to the body and is protected when on the inside. I've never had any issue with it on the outside, however...

No drilling. Looks stock until one gets a closer look at that THICK antenna. hehehe

That one looks bulky. you would think it would break.

It's been there for thousands of miles now, through inclement weather. (Knock wood)

The spring relieves most of the pressure. Others have tapped the stock mount instead of drilling it out and using a bolt like I did. This eliminates that bolt head on the bottom, and the double female part under the spring. I've also head a few run it without the spring, which really reduces the bulky look, but I'm afraid that would create too much stress on the mount and/or fender.

But overall, it doesn't look bulky in person. It just makes you look twice and say, "hey, is that a CB antenna?" Most people don't notice it at all.
