I figured I'd post this here for people looking for different ideas. I made the light bar out of 1" rigid aluminum conduit that way I don't have to worry about chipping paint or rusting. Just polish it up every now and then. I attached it with 4 screws through the bumper and into the metal. I used some 1/4" self tapping screws to attach the lights to the conduit. They feel pretty rigid. I wired the switch's +12v from the parking light(rather than the headlight per hella's instructions) that way they can only be on if I have my parking lights on. That way I'll still get the warning chime if I forget I have them on. I think it turned out really well so I thought I'd share.

sweet install!
And don't worry about "forgetting" if you leave them on, you will know if they are on!

Looks good! And yea, if you leave them on, you do notice when you get out.

You need to wheel it hard (off-road) and report back to us.

Looks good. Just so you know, there is no metal under the bumper cover just some more plastic.

you can hit the frame rail if you come in 3.5 inches from where it dips down to the center section and then out 1 inch from the grill, drill there and you can access from underneath to install lights or a light bar
