Okay so i only paid for the bolts with alen wrench heads on them and the rest was free, so i have fabbed this up...

those are mounted in the stock rail holes to this 1" square piece from Lowe's... my bro gave me his excess

metal from work that they were going to throw away so i snatched it up

i used a garage door bracket to connect the two pieces

my unused Hella FF75's will be mounted here when i am finished with the rack

i have always wanted clearance lights like the Hummer's have, so this will be my attempt...

Just make sure that if a load is ever put on the cross bar that it doesn't hit the roof... not that I ever made that error when building my custom rack :roll:

my problem is that i do not have a welder... and if i did i would have been done a loooong time ago
also, i am see some surface rust on the pieces, so what would you all recommend me using to stop the rust?

Try Naval Jelly it's a rust inhibitor. Works great for the price.

Do you have any pics of the supports being removed? I need to remove mine and would like to see pics.
