Post subject:  2 Door Liberty sighting!!!

Hey all. I didn't really see one. I just got bored and did some photoshop work on a pick of mine. I thought it looked cool enough to share with ya'll. Check it out compared to the original. ImageImage
I also lifted it about 3 more inches (5.5 total), moved the front drive guts forward about 2 inches and the back about 3.5 or so. You don't have to look very close to see the screwups in the cut and paste mode but it was a fun upgrade... and free!! I also extended the rear fender like the Liberator concept.
To really make this work, you'd need to remove your gas tank (among other things) and make a custom one. Anyhow, see what you think and give me some feedback.
I'm not really interested in doing such a conversion myself but I've read in here somewhere that some of you were curious what it would look like. I'd definitely lift it 3 more inches and probably extend the wheelbase a little from the rear and do the fuel cell thing along with the front solid front axle conversion but the 2 door thing would be nuts... but it looks cool!! 8) Oh yeah, and it needs at least 33s!

Cut the roof and rear pillar, turn it into a pick up, then it would look AWESOME. I don't like it like this.. Rav4'ish

I like what you've done I don't mind the Rav4 reference Toyota make great cars I did say cars not 4x4's . As for cutti'g the top why stop at the rear? Go for the whole soft top look. One of my concerns lies in the shorted foot print on the ground , you get too high and too short a wheel base. It's another sweet ride that spends more time on it's roof then with it's wheels on the ground. Just Spread out that foot print and you have a nice little 2 seater ride on the rocks or on the road.  Like what do you call 1,000 lawyers at the bottom the ocean. A GOOD START   Jokes aside I do like your idea.

Cool. It's funny to hear everyone's opinion. Thanks for the good words too. It is interesting to look at it day in and day out. I've saved it as my desktop background and it really is growing on me. By the way, I don't fully understand what you mean when you reference the "shortened foot print on the ground". Although I've raised it 6 inches (hypothetically) which is similar to Al Js, I also mentioned I lengthened the wheelbase by 5.5 inches (again, hypothetically).
Now, work with me here. Consider the fact that this extensive fabrication would lend itself to a few additional and cool mods: a solid front axle conversion with either a stock Rubicon Dana 44 or a late model fullsize truck Dana 44 (which would be wider by 5 or so inches overall), while your moving the back axle backwards, you might as well do the same replacement with the rear one. Also, with that lift and potential width, you could add 33s or even 35s. You wouldn't necessarily need to stop at the length I've specified because you could cut the front bumper off and put on JK style fenders and bumper. Have you seen how similar the front end of a KJ is to the JK??!! While you're there in the back, you're gonna need a new custom fuel cell (cause you'll have to remove the factory one) so you can go ahead and move the rear axle back further too. Then, go ahead and put in a Rubicon Tcase or even an Atlas, add some chromoly axleshafts, lockers of course, cool coil overs, custom long arm kit, sway bars with disconnects and, I believe you'd not only have an awesome and safe Rockcrawler, you'd also have a super cool daily driver that rides great and is solid as concrete.
Who knows, you might even get some waves from the "real Jeep" drivers!
