okay Ive finally started my bumper project, I ripped off the bumper which was really easy, and then I went to work right now all I have done is the mounting, my bumper will be 90% like All J's the main difference will be the turn signals b/c I dont want to try to round it and blah, blah, blah.
The mounting it 2"x2"x1/4" Angle Iron and a 2"x2"x1/8" strap to weld the bolts to, and the bumper itself will be made from 4"x2" C-Channel and the bolts are something like 1/2"x2" maybe 2.5 Im not for sure right now, but when Im done it should weigh in somewhere around 40-50# range and I will be able to mount shackles to it whcih is my main reason for doing this, and the C-Channel is pretty darn thick I dont remember the exact thickness but its thicker than 3/16" and less than 1/4" lol I find out for sure and post it

If you have any questions ask and I will try to answer as bes I can

I will kepp this up-dated as I go and I will try to take as many pics as I can

okay I have more done, I have added the main front part of the bumper but my camera battery is dead so you'll have to wait till tommarrow, the c channel on the front is between 3/16" and 1/4" thick, im hoping another 2 weeks but prolly more like 3 or even 4 :( and it'll be done but who knows i really busy with school till 12pm and then work till 9pm and I have a welding class on Mondays but so far I really am liking it its beefy and is gonna be fairly light weight I guessing around 50# maybe 60#

check back tommarrow and I try to get the pics put up

thanks lol me too!
I need to cut off the excess angle and for the sides Im just gonna cut them at an angle and weld them on all the way around and then start covering up between the bumper and frame, but the metal is pretty thick and doesnt weight a ton so far it weighs about 20-25#
heres what I have so far

oh and Im not leaving the bumper guard on there its only there for a lil more light! and if I can count right I think it'll be held on by 12 bolts maybe just 8 Im not for sure yet and then Im gonna do some cross bracing between the 2 angle iron for extra strength

Looking good!! Any plans to add any more material to kind of have it "blend or flow" into the factory flares and grill or are you looking for pure function? Either way nice job!! I'm no pro but the welds look nice. Alot better than any of mine

yeah it will hopefully blend in like ARB or RL's on the sides, as for the welds thanks lol but the one weld that i showed should be good its my welding instructor, who has been welding longer than I have been alive lol, nut yeah it should look like a mix of ARB, RL and All J

thanks for the compliment!

I like it a lot. I can't wait to see it cleaned and painted. Have you thought about attaching a winch to it? or maybe a bull bar to attach some lights to?

dude...very nice!!! great fabbing...I have a feeling when you are complete and painted, people are going to be flooding you with requests for measurements...ready to get into the bumper biz?? ;) btw, do you have anymore pics say from a 3/4 angle of your front end? instead of just straight on??
