ok so i know ive put this off for way to long but i just now had the chance to finish them in my college shop. i am really pleased with the end result. way stronger that the stock. its more of a belly skid like seen on TJs and so on but thats what i was going for. i had to make a box that droped to fit around to Xfer case so that the skid did not touch and it wouldnt rattle. the box has 5 sides and contures to to cross member and the xfer case. ill post a bunch of pics so everyone can check them out in detail. if anyone needs or wants measurements please feel free to PM me and i would be more than happy to do so. i made mine from scrap metal and had to kinda weld and cut and then test fit and so forth so it could look alot cleaner but thats not really what it was made for. i did use a sound dampinger ruber paint on the top but it didnt need it but i figured it wouldnt hurt and the rubber would help it from rusting. i also drilled a holes in the box part so the water could drain from it. i can jack the libby up with it and i will trail test it tomorrow. i also should have my trans skid engine skid and rock rails done soone as well. trans should be done in the next few days ill post pics of that too. hope everyone likes this and maybe even can make ur own ( i also could be persuaded to make a few ) and my welds might be a little ugly for me but i havent welded for a few months  but they are strong!!!

what type of metal did you end up using i see a little bit of diamond plate so that leads me to say stainless, cresent, or carbon steel. did you grind your joints down to provide more fusion because it looks like you used alot of pieces. i would love to get the measurements from you and make one of my own too!

yeah i beveled the edges on all the peices but trust me the metal will break befor the welds do ive dont plent of guided bend test on mild steel stainless and so on so i know my welds are good enough for me to do that. the metal is low carbon steel. i just used scrap metal i had laying around so i didnt cost me anything and i didnt care if it was prety lol its not barbies jeep u know. but thanks everyone for the coments ill post the rest of my fabs when i get them done.
