But since this is where all those with creative ideas. After having talked to a Mechanic who told me the generic hooks sat too high behind the stock rear bumper to be effective. Anybody have any ideas as to using a drop receiver to the rear rescue point location??. I think $80.00 is rediculus for the factory hook for a KJ. all ideas welcome and to those who moderate I ask you forgiveness for posting in the wrong location.

Do you have a rear hitch? thats what I always use when Im stuck, and if you want to be more safe then just using the ball you can take it off and put a clevis in there

Nope, no rear hitch or any rear rescue points. As stated the factory hooks art way over priced. I saw a hitch set up at Wally World for $109.00. but without a garage or even the $$$$$ at this time to even spend that much. I was thinking $20.00 for a 2 1/2 drop receiver with a D-ring from Harbor Freight. I could fab some thing up with an additional hole drilled some grade 8 nuts and bolts, might work. I even Checked with U-Haul andd they would install for about $140.00 without wireing since I have nothing to tow that would work also but once again limited funds.
