Holbart Model 125 EZ any good ???

Post subject:  Holbart Model 125 EZ any good ???
For a cheap model for some around the house stuff is it worth buying? Neighbor has one for 100 bucks that he bought last year when he was trying to redo a 50 Ford. He gave up and the welder is for sale. I have an older mig welder that I bought back in the early 80s but its about worn out from 8 years in the body shop.

their not bad welders. Not as good as a miller or lincoln

Ask If He will let you play with it first, if yes bring some odds and ends and see how it works as to your needs. If he says NO walk away If a deal is too go to be true it probably is..

:lol: .. yeah thats not a bad welder for the price. the duty cycle is a little low put its really up to what u are going to use it for.. 3/4" steel for long periods not even close small jobs around the house and on the rig sure.

I know the duty cycle is low , just need something to play with, I have some plans bouncing around in my head that I need a small welder for, like I said I have an older one that I bought in the early 80s and we used it in the body shop for years, its a MAC WS 1110 did a great job on body panels etc

can u use gas with that welder or is it only flux?

edit: never mind yes u can. so yeah go for it im sure that it will be a good welder. we have one similar at the shop and ive used it on some square tubing and i was really impressed. for 100 bucks its a killer deal. heck i would buy it and im a certified welder that has been spoiled with new multy function digital Millers that cost around 16 grand or so.

Yes wish I had access to those 16 grand welders like you! :wink: But for what I want right now may get it just to have something to play with! :lol:

if u dont u should hook me up :lol: .. im sick of my 225 AC lincoln i have in my garage.. i swear im going to throw that thing in the trash one day and it will feel GOOD!!!!

what dont throw it out! Ive been lookin for one, I just cant find any at the right time lol when I do find one I have no money
