If I ever pick up a set of HD OME coils, I will. But, for now, I doubt it.

My 'Mud Skid'

Just an old sign, (know someone on the local street department), cut and bent to fit. Drilled holes in it and the front skid, and bolted it in. Also drilled holes throught the plastic skin into the metal bumper and bolted it to that.

One night while I was in Ohio, I was sitting outside my cabin, (it was raining I remember), all of a sudden this idea came to me, almost like a ghost whispered it to me. It was kind of errie I must say.

Here's another:

Can't seem to find a larger installed picture right now, but mine was built for use with an ARB and runs from predrilled holes in the bumper down to the factory front skid. Due to the way the arb sits and the fact I had to bend the plate at both ends, I think it's a lower angle than 501's as well but I need a better picture.

The plate is made from 10ga steel and the two bends have been welded for reinforcement.

I also have a very poorly drawn diagram with some measurements: http://www.ltlowe.ca/liberty/skid_plan.jpg

You do have some clearance there Tom.

I like the way they help complete the skid plates.

helps a bunch to keep mud and snow out of there for sure, without it my front skid just scooped up everything, more of a scoop shovel than anything else

The pic of mine installed was pre-lift... (and all my skids are currently off because of my front drive shaft problems so I can't get you a new picture right away)

I'm not sure if I prefer the angle on mine, or the one on Tom's better, but his pics definitely show the clearance! Tom, does your's go straight back for a while before angling down or is it just the pictures?

I started out with it bolted to the front lip of the ARB then angling down to the front of the skid, lost way too much clearance, so it now goes back to the bottom of the radiator support ( the original pan from the ARB bolted on there as well) and then makes a sharp curve down to the front skid, I have it about two/three inches down over the skid and works good at keeping stuff out
