All the custom rock rails and the "store bought" ones I have seen all end right about where the plastic fender flare starts. Is there a reason for this? I know that the metal or the unibody continues on nder the plastic of the fender flare so why dont the rock rails continue on to the end of the unibody like Screamin Lizard did with his boat sliders?

Just remember the rocker panals are different for some years of KJ's,'02-'04's are the same and '05-'07's are the same but different from the '02-'04's,and that is the reason for the different lengths.It's more about what the customer is willing to cut.I have a '02 KJ and my rock rails go from wheel well to wheel well,cutting of the front fender flares was needed to make them fit.
