So I used to have my axe and shovel mounted to my roof rack using the quickfist grips and it worked great but I am selling the roof rack now and still wanted to mount my axe and shovel on my roof. So I took the U-bolts I mounted my roof rack with and drilled a hole in the plate that held the roof rack down when botled to the U-bot and drilled a hole in the center of it. I put the bolt that holds the quickfist grip in place through the hole in the plate and bolted the U-bolt onto my stock roof rails. I tightened the bolts down as tight as I could and then cut off the excess U-Bolt threads that wouldn't let the quickfist sit flush over the U-bolt plate. Once I did that I bolted the quickfist down tight and then cut off the excess bolt threads sticking out of the center of the quickfist. Then I painted them black and called it good.
