Post subject: | fishing rod & cooler basket?? |
I have the front hitch receiver and was trying to think up a way to create a basket that could hold my cooler and fishing poles. Something I could take on and off? I can't weld so I was thinking of ways to make one using some type of metal and nuts and bolts. Any ideas??? |

find one of those hitch mounted carriers, cut it down to the size you want and bolt it together, I would leave it full width , just shorten up the sides, use PVC pipe for the rod holders and bolt them to the front /or sides of the basket, lightweight, easy to store when you don't need it and cheap, saw one her on Craigslist for 20 bucks, new they are like 50 or so |

Ran across one I took pictures of a few years back while crossing a ferry on the outer banks. While not on a front receiver, he used his front tow mounts that he used to pull behind his RV. Here is the link to the pics: http://gallery.me.com/reday#100024 |
