Post subject:  fishing rod & cooler basket??

I have the front hitch receiver and was trying to think up a way to create a basket that could hold my cooler and fishing poles. Something I could take on and off? I can't weld so I was thinking of ways to make one using some type of metal and nuts and bolts. Any ideas???

find one of those hitch mounted carriers, cut it down to the size you want and bolt it together, I would leave it full width , just shorten up the sides, use PVC pipe for the rod holders and bolt them to the front /or sides of the basket, lightweight, easy to store when you don't need it and cheap, saw one her on Craigslist for 20 bucks, new they are like 50 or so

Ran across one I took pictures of a few years back while crossing a ferry on the outer banks. While not on a front receiver, he used his front tow mounts that he used to pull behind his RV. Here is the link to the pics:
