Post subject:  Hidden Lights???

Ok I wanna mount two more lights up front so I can see better in the woods. Everyone has the two lights mounted on the bumper like the renegades i know....Has anyone thought of/ created a mount that would allow two lights to be mounted behind the grill?? Like they would be unseen until you hit the highbeams....Let me know if anyone has or is interested in something like that

Li-bah-tee, I used aluminum rain gutter mesh which I cut to fit each individual opening as well as the opening under the bumper. I read where someone went to walmart and used a the waste paper basket with the black wire mesh..... again they cut to fit. The squares on the mesh from Walmart is a little smaller than the one for the rain gutter and I believe it is steel and not aluminum which may be harder to cut and fit and will require more patients

Good Luck and hope this helps

Same as To_The_Max. I picked up a package of gutter screen at LOWES for 6.97, and cut them down to fit inside the grill (approx. 3 1/2"x 9 3/4"), sand & primered them and then painted them black. I hooked them to the grill using black zip ties. You can also buy a roll of black plastic gutter guard, but I'm not sure how strong it will be and the hole pattern in the grid is larger than the metal.

Some people put them in front of the black plastic inserts, I put mine behind them.

I put mine in front of the plastic insert, so no zip ties were required but this was a pain.

I kept the inserts on because the verticle ribs would give added support if a rock came flying up.

i hadn't thought of that...hmmm..rethinking my whole idea now...actually...looking at yours again, you almost can't even tell that they are behind the mesh...sweeet. :D

I put the mesh in before anyone at work saw my new jeep. A couple of coworkers were looking at the jeep comparing their KJ to my KK. One said they liked the change of adding the mesh to the grill. They didn't believe me when I said they don't come like that that I made it myself until I showed them. They also liked the new seats saying mine feels like gel compared to the KJ :D

i used plastic screen (like for a screen door). just sandwiched it inbetween the black plastic insert and the grill. it was a pain but it looks good.

if there's one thing i hate about my kj...it's the seats...i think a fat chick owned it before me and wore out the driver seat on one side...it's fierce.
