Post subject:  Dash Tissue Bag
It never fails, as soon as my wife gets into the Jeep, She needs to have a Tissue. She often said there should be something on the dash above the glove box. Building a box out of hard material like plastic, wood or fiberglass could get you prison time if anything happens in an accident and you have a WAKO prosecutor. What ever I came up with had to be something that would not injure anyone if the Air Bag went off. I was sorting out jeans that were getting too shabby and had an idea :idea: :idea: :idea: :idea:

Cut the leg off the jeans and start with the sewing machine that needs to work for my wife's next project.

Notice the opening cut with scissors, the edge rolled over and sewn down.

How the tissues come out.

Hanger tabs made from some old binding strap, folded over on the end so they don't pull out from under the dash panel.

Velcro to hold one end shut, the other end was sewn shut.

Pop up the Dash Panel to slip in the tabs, and reseat the panel

Installed, loaded, and ready for action.

I may need to add some ties to tie the Dash Tissue Bag to the handle above the glove box.

why not just stick a box under the front passenger seat? do you need tissues to be that readily accessible? i would be very weary of anything sitting on the dash in front of where the air bag explodes, even something as soft as denim. and zip ties holding it down would be a horrible idea, anything that might obstruct the correct operation of that airbag is simply irresponsible.

my suggestion. have your wife carry tissues in her purse like everyone else's.

Not every one can easily reach under the seat or hold a purse for hours on end during a drive.
You must love flying Airtran, Continental, and Northwest.
I moved back both front seats 2 1/2" to have extra leg room for both of us.
Besides, eyeglasses have caused more Air Bag related injuries than tissues.

Just put what you made in the drivers or passenger door....

you could try putting it in the inside center console. i had an ex the had a Pontiac sunfire and built in in the inside of the center console was a tissue dispenser

Yeah, I'd make a little pouch that mounts to the lid of the console. I wouldn't want it just kind of siting out there like that, but if you are happy with the setup you have, then you are good to go.

haha

I come up with stuff like this when I'm feeling a combination of bored and creative

please don't let my frequent passengers see this, i do enough to accommodate 2 of the 3 females that ride with me off and on during the week

surprisingly the one I have to do the least for is the one I'm dating

now.. i'm not pickin on you or nothin..

but my grandma woulda liked your thinkin, she sewed something similar into some of her pillow cases

got tired of knocking things off her nightstand in the middle of the night trying to get a tissue

shoulda put a secondary pouch on that thing for condoms... i mean Toll change..

just to throw them off ;)

That's an interesting idea. I kinda like it, although I don't like the placement... were it me, I'd have modified the hanger straps and fixed it so it hangs over the glove compartment - easier installation via closing and opening the box, and clearly not interfering with the air bag (I know some females that get very fussy about all the safety gear in a Jeep - must have something to do with the rollover warning on the Wrangler's visor).

Why not toss that in the passenger door cargo space? One in your door and one in the passenger door. For those in the rear, toss it behind the front passenger seat map flap on the back of it.

....plus she is endowed with hips as women say.

Maybe that is why she still has a waste.
