So, a few folks here have the custom-run of front hitch receivers based on one of the hidden-hitch (I think) designs (with the steel loops for safety chains, etc.). Does anyone have the drawings of said project (I can't find any technical references to it, only that it was done a couple years back and only used ones are floating around). I'm thinking of ways to do the mounting for front push/bull bar and recovery attachments and this vs. a chopped-up Detours backbone seem to be in the lead for feasibility, and I'm thinking building a partial receiver frame will be cheaper than buying a backbone and (gasp) chopping it all up. You might contact Landy (username) as he is the one who did the custom run. Looks like he is still active, his last visit was a week ago. |
