Check out the new flat bushwacker fenders for the JK's. They look similar. A little more aggressive angle on the front, but otherwise identical. There was a white JK 4 door on Powerblock Extreme 4x4 that had them and a custom front bumper. They Looked awesome together. I might buy a set if you start making them any thoughts on the price?

I usualy catch extreme 4x4. guess I missed that one, I'll have to check the DVR. I am actually working on jigs and fixtures to make these flares. It will be at least 6 - 8 weeks before I can say I am actually making them. It's taking longer than I thought in my spare time. On Price ....... ? .... Material is really a small percentage of the price, I know I spent 2-3 weeks in spare time on the right. When I got pushed for time ( 3 days before our Badlands trip ) I actually got away with spending 7 hrs on Wed and 7 hrs on Thurs. at work welding and fabricating the left side from scratch/nothing to finished. I am sure the labor hours will come down with fixtures, but at this time, 14 mn/hrs per side might be too expesive to sell. They would end up being $600 - $650 for the fronts. Any takers at that price? We'll see ...

Here is a link to a few pictures of the jeep that they had on there. It was the episode (part 2) where they bobbed a duece and a half fire truck.

These are the bushwacker flat fenders (plastic I think) at about $400 per set.

Are they're any plans to do matching rear fender flares?

Are you going to make them two-piece or will they bolt to/swing with the doors?

that is how I would do it :2cents:

it would be unique

Or just make them flat up top, and only make them run as far back as that black plug in you pictures, which looks to only be a couple inches past the door, and have the fronts follow the slope on the door.

That would look sweet. I'll get with the photoshop fab

Here is the basic idea,

I used Grey for contrast and black for the edge

Image

and then just cut as much of the rest of the fender/wheel well away and clean/shape the edge.

sort of like they do for the Highline rear ROKMEN fenders for TJs

They may be too expensive to make for most people. I have figured $650 just for the front. I have some of the fixtures made for the front but it is a lot of hand fab work. Due to my wife being in the hospital again I have put these on hold for a few weeks. I will get back to them as soon as I can tho'. Can't really give a time frame at this point til I find out more about my wife's recovery.

So I started making the base plates for the rear flares yesterday  , and I worked on them some more today  . Took a couple pics to show and tell but I'm still at work now so will post pics of my starting point later this evening.

Should I start a new thread and have one for the fronts and one for the rear flares or is everybody OK with just one thread?

One thread is fine with me. Looking forward to seeing what you've got for the rear. I would never have considered front flat fenders until I saw these that you made. Only change I would make to them would be to sweep them back a little at the back of the tire. I'd be scared I'd tear them off as much as they stick out there. I'm digging them though...
