Yeah I started my SFA swap with a budget, that went out the door fast, doubled it without even trying.I'm far from "rolling in the dough",it took me 3 years to buy all my parts.

Ya, I have a budget! Whatever it takes to get it running! No, seriously, I was looking to spend about $3k to rebuild the 3.7 completely or put a remanned in it, so... that's my target budget. So far I'm doing ok on the the budget, but we'll see as the project progresses!
I guess I can start this here: So far :

Motor +$100 ( I traded my 45RFE for the motor and $100 cash)
Speedo - $249
Tach -$179
water temp. $68
fuel gauge w/sender $82
Motor mounts $160
Timing gear set $170
Gasket Kit $47

So... a little over $900 and all I have is a motor sitting in the driveway! I am still hoping to come close, but it may go over ... just a little!
There is still trans and transfer case to aquire, driveshafts to have made, linkages to fabricate or buy, radiator and fans to buy, wiring to do ...

and I want to try and have it running by ECS time? :ROTFL:

New gaskets from Jeg's
Image

I'm gonna build a whiner! 8) New gear drive timing set! :D from Jeg's , no, not really necessary ... but cool!

And the new motor mounts got here! from Novak Conversions
Image

Put a deposit on the trans and transfer case this weekend too! Picking it up next weekend if everything goes right. Somebody buy some of my stuff!!!!!
Getting a C4 with a manual BW1354 transfer case. Not really the perfect setup (rather have a 203 or 205) but it'll get me up and running (hopefully in time for ECS!! )

I'm really wondering what happens when you solve the equation

33" tires + 302 + D30a = X

I'll be up in IL permanently in a month or two, so do I get to move into your garage or what? I'm pretty quiet.. don't take up TOO much space, I don't eat much and will work till I pass out as long as you have cold adult beverages :)

I'm sure there's at least 2 or 3 garages you're more than welcome at here in Toledo! By the way, will you be up this way in time for the NTPA National Championships? It's the 20th - 22nd of August in "Pulltown, U.S.A." (Bowling Green, Ohio) Just about 30 miles down the road! 8)

X= 5 minutes with me on the skinny pedal !! :-)r

And if that don't work, Treadwright's sellin' 34's now! (I think I can make 'em fit!) :ROTFL:

There's always gonna be a weak link with me behind the wheel. Not to mention a couple loose screws!!

Had planned on it, but had planned on having my tractor done by now too and I don't see me having the cam back in before then, I still haven't made the final lobe cuts

I had one in my 49 studebater starlight coupe. Granted the engine was not stock but the 350 sure fit nicely. I do miss that car.

Talked BugginKJ into running his KJ up to pick up my trans and transfer case today! Wasn't too bad of a run .... 225 miles each way!! I got a little better deal than I thought I was going to get. A freshly rebuilt C4 trans with manual valve body, tailhousing from a Bronco II, bellhousing from a late 60's Bronco, a custom double depth trans pan and a never installed 2400 RPM Stall torque converter for $450!!!! Much thanks goes out to Hart for driving me 3-1/2 hrs each way to pick up these parts.

Now if I could just talk him in to coming over and installing it for me! :ROTFL:

The garage is now cleaned out and there's room to work so I should make some progress from this point. I still need to get a set of headers or exhaust manifolds to get my location side to side, then I will be able to start mocking up the motor mounts for welding. Majors to buy yet are the radiator, headers, ignition box and driveshafts. The rest is not free but is minor costs compared to what I call the big ticket items.
