I drop my maglight down in the little space to the left of the drivers seat. It is a 4D cell so if need be it can be used as protection and is in a convenient place. Going over bumps and stuff it doesn't move anywhere. I have a pair of leather work gloves there too so they help keep it settled down. |

Okay here is mine. I am not to happy with it. I rushed putting the carpet on. When I did my marking and measurements instead of 3" for one side of the blocks i marked out and made a 6" cut. For some reason I doubled it so now there is a gap where to dowel rod fit into the cargo area. Ill make a better one at some point in the future for now this is it. Again thanks for ideas. Oh and I was an idiot about the clamps also. I bought the wrong size. Made it work though. I also quickly made a printable drawing & directions img for myself. A lot of good it did me. Anyways like i said, it works and it was fun to put together. |

I made a shelf couple years ago. Used Steel Pipe as the rod in the back. Also installed my HiLift Jack right behind the head rests on the back seat. When seats need to go down and the Headrests removed... I drilled holes for the headrest bars so the headrests will just neatly slide down into the shelf and stay put. |

darren/wayne - the headrest holes are a great idea. however I'd reconsider the Hi-lift in an emergency deceleration (i.e. wreck) - the hi-lift could decide to join you in the front seat - making a significant headache somewhere a bit more solidly mounted - would be a safer idea. |

Here's mine, used door handles from Lowes for cargo tied downs and to give me something to hold on to when I pull it out. Put in a cheap taplight from Wal Mart to give some some light in the cargo area. |

I am needing to get a fire extinguisher for mine, and was considering the same location. I'm glad that it fits perfectly. Does it interfere with anything there? rocknrun wrote: Put in a cheap taplight from Wal Mart to give some some light in the cargo area. I had a light mounted under mine but SoCal and Bama are so hot in the summer, that the adhesive melted and it kept falling off. |

Fire extinguisher doesn't interfere with anything; since I took the pic though, I have cabled it using a carabiner from the extinguisher neck to one of the tie downs on the shelf. I don't trust that plastic bracket to hold in case of a rollover. The taplight I used has keyhole slots in the back so it's mounted with two screws. Summer heat here in NC makes me avoid anything using stick on tape, velcro, etc. like the plague. |

Yea ! thats mine. Thanks for all the instructions. I love my new rear shelf and just ordered the LED lights and switches for 2 LED modules underneath. It works very well and keeps everyone from seeing my tools and other stuff that I keep under there. |
