Post subject:  to all you metal workers!
I have an idea for a project. However I'm not very handy with metal. Never used it before. Only wood haha. How do I go about cutting sheet metal? Is there anyone that wouldn't mind pm me for more info? I need to share the plans withb some one and hear how to improve them. Thanks guys.

there's a bunch of ways to cut sheet

tin snips (cheapest and initially ugliest)
rotary shears
cutoff wheels
hydrolic or manual shears

can also clamp it to a straight edge, etch the edge with a diamond or carbide dremel, then "Brake" it in two directions and it'll shear itself off then go back and grind the edge smooth

there are some really expensive methods for cutting sheet, with enough time and care you can do it with pretty much whatever you have at your disposal just takes more cleanup effort to keep it looking nice

Don't forget about the jigsaw... I use mine all the time on projects...
