Post subject:  Any good books on TIG welding

I have not TIG welded in over 37 years and just bought a Inverter/TIG welder. A good book that I can read on the aircraft would be great, any suggestions?

Thanks, I found great Video clips, one from a guy named Covell.
In fact I forwarded it to some of our Engineers showing some of the benefits of TIG over MIG welding.
Another Guy from Midway arms showed how to repair a broken trigger plate using TIG.
Basically, a TIG weld is a softer weld that is closer to the hardness of the base metal.
Where a MIG is harder than the base metal and more likely to crack when stressed.

More proof, even the most Advanced Engineer can learn from a Gear Head :!: :!:

Thanks, Remember that print I emailed you?
Guess which welding method is the best to weld the part together?

TIG

Yes I remember and I make backup and printing copy of it...
Maybe someday I can import a "display" copy of this toy and "repair" it...

TIG welding is a art! My MIG already make me feel like a child in a candy store! Mastering this welding techique with just one eye is already a big challenge since I got no deep perception.
(No 3D TV for me  )

Here my list of "I need them ASAP" tools...
1- Welding table (Home made or deal http://www.soluquip.com/Images/table_steel_4x8_2_ref2021.jpg)
2- Hydraulic 20 tonnes press (home made or a deal http://www.soluquip.com/Images/press_shop_electric_Custom_2_2292.jpg)
3- Pneumatic roofing hammer
4- Plasma cutter
5- TIG welder
6- All the fracking tools I can stock in my old 600 Sq/Ft garage! :goink:

I have 2 books by Richard Finch, Welders Handbook and Performance Welding, both are good, he goes int how he had a contract to weld certified aircraft seats, he was tig welding them, and couldn't keep up with demand so he had his welders certified in mig and his production increased 400%.

Found this during a browse.
I know this is an old thread - agree with the quality of Covell's DVD's but if you want to progress/refresh its worth having a look at www.weldingtipsandtricks.com. and the Weldmonger store. I'm sure Jodie won't mind the plug for his site / the associated forum and Jodies' TIG fingers.
