either 1/8th or 3/16th depending on how easy you want to be able to shape it

if you want to put bends in it, it may be easier to use 1/8th

if backed and strutted properly the 1/8th will hold up fine running into brick walls - most of the structural stuff i've built was in 1/8th, 3/16th and 1/4 but .. its neither light nor on a KJ nor a bumper

made two rough like reallly rough sketchs of 2 possible ideas... let me know what you think.

The uper left hand picture shows how it will look from the side with turn signals mounted on top of bumper. And the arrows going to the left and right hand side of the bumper are where I though of integrating fog lights.

This is with the turn signals integrated into the bumper and just sheet metal welded to the bumper covering the gap where the grill and old bumper would meet up.

Any suggestions and comments are welcome. I know the drawings are bad, but its a visual

here's a suggestion

put the turn signal boxes that you'd usually mount on the bumper, inside the bumper, put a piece of tape where the turn signals are going to go, use a sharpie and put lines "grilling" drill holes at the top middle and bottom of each grill stroke, remove the tape and cut out the material left between the drilled holes and smooth it up , or swiss cheeze it, or whatever sort of relief you want , it's your opportunity to get creative, i've seen everything from someones initials to .. anatomical parts cut into turn signal reliefs :P

keeps your turn signals protected

can either mount the box inside with bolts or weld it in and you can use a cut off tool to cut away portions of the box that you don't need etc

that sorta thing

gives blinker emission to the sides too

alternatively could also build a stencil of the stock turn sigs in some scrap and mould the ends around the stencil and mount the stock turns back inside

or go with led round side markers and oval front

it's all bout what kinda cereal you want in the bowl

All three are extinct sorry :(

I did what I could to keep them in production but the overhead with them being US Steel and the low demand for them they cut their losses even tried to talk them into trying again with the KK but all I got in return was a few grumbles

Picked up a 14ga 3x6 today for 48.15 a tad bit on the thin side but its not like the entire bumper will be made out of this stuff. Man I'm getting excited to start working

It does take some efforet to pull it out, I'm just worried about it coming out from vibrations... what could I use to make sure that didn't happen? Some epoxy around the gromet?

some black RTV will work if you're worried about it jarring loose but tbh.. usually once they're in they're in

the RTV will be easier to pull off cleanly if you need get it out

but yea without having it in front of me to check the grommet and what not it looks right
