Within the next few days I will be purchasing my TJ bumpers to start my front and rear TJ bumper mod for my KJ.

First I'll start off with what I'm using...

Front and Rear TJ bumpers...

That's it! Until I get my bumpers and start hacking away, I won't have anything else.

Please feel free to leave tips, comments, whatever on here. I'm sure it will help me someway and others going to do this mod.

Sarah

I'll redo the pics this weekend when I pick up the bumpers, and HOPEFULLY I'll have some info on how to get them on.

All the pics show is a front and rear oem TJ bumpers (used).
Getting them both for $50 ea.

I have one of two TJs bumpers and it should be on before ECS.

I do not have the tools to do the job, but I will be starting on the front and paying my shop to put it on. I will be incorporating ideas from how durangotang and voodoo man did their TJ bumper mods. Should be fun!!!
Most likely I will be leaving the Jeep with the shop Thursday night as I will not be able to drive for a few days. Due to the wisdom teeth getting wacked out, plus the pain meds.

Tomorrow I will be buying hitch bars to fab into tow points for the front and some grade-8 bolts. Right now I'm running off what memory I have of how voodoo man mounted his TJ bumper. The shop will also be fabbing some brackets to help support the bumper too. Also, I will be making my own radiator skid out of diamond plate.

That's all I have right now. Sorry :(

Sarah

I've made some progress. Picking up the rear TJ bumper very very soon. This is what you have to get the Jeep down to, to start doing the TJ bumper mod.

No, I'm buying the rear bumper tomorrow at 12pm. Meeting the guy at the local Walmart tomorrow to pick it up at the price of $50. Will take pics of both bumpers.

Decided to let the guys at the shop (where I always go for the Jeep) to put them on. If I did this by myself, I bound to screw something up. Jeep will be going into the shop Monday and they will have til Thursday to get it done. Plenty of enough time for them to get them bumpers on.

I just got out of the hospital Tuesday from a shot reaction that almost killed me. Now I'm tearing away at the Jeep!
After getting the plastic bumpers off, I regreted it. My chest started hurting. Ooops!

Anyways, I cannot find 10,000 tow bars to use up front for tow points. If this rear TJ bumper has a built-in hitch, I might just use it up front. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. :juggle:

...AND NO...it's not done yet, Or I'd be jumping for joy right now! :ROTFL: :goink:

Don't expect to pull anything with the bumper itself, just sheet metal. Can not think of fellows name,he is on here, did bumper with hitchs coming through, looked good.Me,I just welded and bolted, and cut off anything that did not look like a bumper. Good luck, nice to see. Although it comes to mind this might be Photoshopped too,or CGI.

Well the way I plan to have them do the front, I will be able to pull with those homeade tow points; made out of hitch bars. Kind of like how durangotang did his. I will have them beef it up to make sure it does not fall off. The bumper that will be going on the back WILL NOT be used to pull ANYTHING. More of just for looks, you know? That's why I still have my hitch on the Jeep. :goink:

...and Photoshop? PSHT! You'll see it at BlackMountain next week.

Don't forget about a front skid to protect everything you exposed

So I researched and found out how to install both front and rear tj bumpers. I printed off directions and "how to pics" for the shop to follow. Atleast it will help them get it done quicker. I was going to attempt to do this myself; but after my spell Monday and "lack-of" tools to do the job, I better let them do it. Shouldn't take no time to do this and hope to have the Jeep tomorrow evening.
