See what the difference in cost would be. The hitch recovery needs to go inside the frame rails while the hitch hangs underneath.

Found it online somewhere. Do what you want, I don't care. It's not like I would get mad at you. I'm sharing my ideas and plans with everyone on here to help them and myself out.

Do you have your TJ bumpers on?

Not yet. :( It's killing me to just have everything sit in my room. But right now there isn't any free time for me because of cross country and going to colleges to meet coaches. Novemeber XC ends and the bumpers will definately be on 8)

Used gutter guard that was in the garage and I used lens tint (rattle can) for the tail lights. Check your state laws before you tint your tail lights.

It's DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :pepper:   :frankie:

Any questions on how it was done...PM me for my cell phone number and I'll explain it to you...if you can't figure out how they attached them from the pictures...then well...

They used stainless steel bolts etc etc...

Next Plans: Add a stinger, winch plate and winch up front...weld metal to both bumpers to cover the ugly spots...

Cost:
Front TJ bumper $50
Rear TJ bumper $50
Labor (which includes everything AND the kitchen sink) $120

Total Cost:
$220

You have any other pics of what you did to the rear and how you mounted up the front? I can't see any of the pics besides the new smitybilt stinger

I used flat steel (thick) and cut u shaped cuts in the side of it. Loosened the bolts on the rear hitch enough to slide the flat steel in on top of the hitch. The u cuts in the steel go in against the bolts holding the hitch. When you make the cuts in the steel, make sure they line up and spaced out with the bolt/bolt holes in the hitch. I only used the first two bolts/bolt holes on each side of the hitch. When you tighten up the hitch the flat steel will stay snug. The ends sticking out need a hole on each drilled out to mount the TJ bumper.

I really suggest not doing this if you want a functional rear bumper. What I did was for looks and was not that functional at all. If you're looking for functional, save your pennies and buy a HD customer rear bumper.
