Are there any metal rear tail light guards? The mopar ones are plastic and dont seem very sturdy. Would it be possible to make a mold of the plastic ones and have a metal one cast? (right terminology?) I've broken one already at camp jeep 05, so guards would be nice. Thanks. |

Hey Sam, Metal ones do exist. You can order them from autozone. I'll get you a part number tomorrow, but I'll bet someone here knows where to get them online. Rick |

You got it! $60 for about $2 worth of plastic and some double stick tape! And by the way, they shouldn't be called brush guards. They should be called "Brush trappers"! |

I wanted some of the metal ones. Shopped around a lot and could only find the Manik ones for around $180. Those are the ONLY metal ones that I can find. And I just can't bring myself to pay $180 for taillight guards when I can lift my CRD 2" for $170. I gave up shopping (shrug). If you have the money, I would suggest getting the Manik ones. |

If they are made correctly they can deflect rocks that would otherwise crack a light. This has happened to me before. |

for 180 dollars a pair, I would invest my money in buying replacement tail lights for about 60 dollars a pair on ebay. That is about 3 pairs of tail lights that you can buy or 2 pairs of the cool looking alteza ones. It's just my 2 cents |

If you are having that problem with your tail lights you need to get some new friends. Besides, ABS plastic will deflect a rock just as easy as low gauge steel or aluminum. I still say it is all for looks as far as tail lights are concerned. |

I wouldnt want to spend that much for the light guards. I have already replaced one that I cracked. Chem, i know what you're saying and yea, I do like the look but they are also functional. Unlike some things people stick on their vehicles. And i dont think the light got cracked by a friend just one of those things that can happen off road kicking up rocks. |
