I just built hole new upper mounts, with the bolt holes as high up as physically possible.

Awesome to see some more updates.
If you need some sort of measurements from a 2008, that's what I have.

Got the new grade 10.9 bolts in today and went at today. I also wire wheeled and painted the KJ clevises I got as it looked like they spent most of their life in the sea.

The parts:

I also acquired some of Ricky's HD 4" springs from another member who sold his KK before getting a chance to install them. After a test drive and flex they are right on the money at 4" (23" hub-fender) BOTH left and right side. One was marked 'fuel side' so I'll assume the rate is 25ish lbs heavier. Right now the oem sway bar and links is my droop limit. I'm on the fence as to whether I should build extended or adjustable links or just remove the sway bar entirely. I'm also rocking the oem brake hoses which have plenty of slack as it sits right now. I'm not looking forward to replacing them from what I've seen in LF's how-to. I'll also get on building an adjustable track bar here real quick. It looks like the rear axle is offset roughly 3/4" to the left.

The ride quality from the coilovers is excellent, far better than the OME/Bilstein setup I've been running for five years now. I do think there is a little room for improvement in the valving but I'll tackle that later down the road. I'd have to get a tank of nitrogen and a >200 psi regulator if I want to charge them myself upon reassembly. It took a bit of work adjusting them to hit 4" on both sides with shakedown drives in between each adjustment but I finally got it dialed in at 22" both sides. Well, 22.25 but I expect it to settle some more.

Baby flex: (stock sway bar is limiting)

Awesome update! Whatever your next move is in regards to another custom product, I'm curious as to if you will build to sell.

You mentioned 475lbs springs in front. They don't ride rougher than the 400lbs OME 927?

I actually running 450 lb springs... They actually feel smoother than the 927's because they aren't preloaded quite as much and I'm sure the shock valving plays a big role in that. I started with 400 pounders but couldn't seem to crank them down far enough to get the ride height I wanted. Still learning on how all this stuff works..

I guess coilover springs really are a little different. I figured you could just crank down a lower rated spring.

Big difference in how they ride, react to changing height etc
OF course the valving plays a huge roll in over all ride and handling
I'm still thinking the 450s will do great for him overall, but of course time will tell :JEEPIN:

Wrapping things ups on the first order for a 2.0 version tire carrier. I really like the build time efficiency using the dual shear hinge with round tube frame and plate bracketry. The older version I was doing using all box tubing was so labor intensive it was ridiculous!

I've casually had my eyes peeled for a cheap one to buy to build off.
