First after ripping out all of the carpet vacume out all the crap that made it through the carpet. then go buy som 3m/scothhbrite scouring pad or some 80 grit sand paper. Then sand/scuff the crap out of what you want to herculine. after doing that take some acetone and lint free rags and clean the surface. once the rag is dierty throw it away and use a new one. keep doing this until you get a clean rag. Then you can either prime the surface or not. I suggest you hit it with sone rust inhibiting primer just for extra measure. if you prime give it the proper time to dry. the herculine away. i guarntee that the stuff will never flake off if you do it like this. ive been painting since i could hold a spray gun and ive never had a problem with paint or anything else chipping or flaking if the job was done correctaly. main tip...... paint or liner doesnt stick to dirt........ and for the frames of vehicles....... runs dont rust so put it on heavy and your going to be just fine
Thank-You I agree 100% , but a paint job is as good as it's surface prep
If one has gone so far as to strip out their interior why not take it one step further and Prime with say POUR ??? , I can't remember the number but its acclaimed for its rust preventative propertys. After cleaning and priming apply the top coat whether it is Rhino Liner, Linex or what ever product ypu decide to apply. But allow me to state that if you short cut and avoid proper preperation you will end up singing the BLUE's
