well im a professional painter for Oshkosh Truck defense division. So now for the tips. First after ripping out all of the carpet vacume out all the crap that made it through the carpet. then go buy som 3m/scothhbrite scouring pad or some 80 grit sand paper. Then sand/scuff the crap out of what you want to herculine. after doing that take some acetone and lint free rags and clean the surface. once the rag is dierty throw it away and use a new one. keep doing this until you get a clean rag. Then you can either prime the surface or not. I suggest you hit it with sone rust inhibiting primer just for extra measure. if you prime give it the proper time to dry. the herculine away. i guarntee that the stuff will never flake off if you do it like this. ive been painting since i could hold a spray gun and ive never had a problem with paint or anything else chipping or flaking if the job was done correctaly. main tip...... paint or liner doesnt stick to dirt........ and for the frames of vehicles....... runs dont rust so put it on heavy and your going to be just fine

Thank-You I agree 100% , but a paint job is as good as it's surface prep :!: If one has gone so far as to strip out their interior why not take it one step further and Prime with say POUR ??? , I can't remember the number but its acclaimed for its rust preventative propertys. After cleaning and priming apply the top coat whether it is Rhino Liner, Linex or what ever product ypu decide to apply. But allow me to state that if you short cut and avoid proper preperation you will end up singing the BLUE's :P :P :P

POR15??

While POR 15 is some great stuff, In this aplication, I think it to be a waste of time, money, energy and weight added. The interior is primed and painted already. A light scuffing is enough to ensure the herculining will adhere. Its not like you'll be hualing metal scrap and 2x4s on the floarboards of the jeep. Herculiner is made for heavy trafic and abuse aplications (bed lining) and is rather overkill for interior use as it is... But whatever floats your boat, right?

Wow. It came out great.

I reciently took in a foot and a half on my passenger side. Im going to be bedlining my 02 kj soon. The only question i have is...

what did you do about the wiring hub thats in the drive side back floor?
I was thinking of wire looming the wires but then a buddy told me to shrink wrap the harness. But then again i dont want it to look half arsed.

Anyone have any suggestions? :)

what i have done is i have just takin out the carpet, for dain holes the kj has holes in the floor from the factory, they are coverd up by some bits of fome tape. then i found some small rubber plugs to fill the holes, when i need to clean out any mud i undo the plugs get the hose and spray out the jeep on the mist setting.

i plan on put my carpet back in but when do i am going to chop it up in sections so when it needs to be takin out again it can be done without having to take out the seats

The trail ripped my plastic liners out.

If yours is newer you have to figure out how to "retain" your vehicle speed sensor wire (as in where to attach it so it doesn't get caught by your springs)

Sorry I don't have detailed pictures.

You might also want to consider putting a plate over where the foam would be exposed by your door jam.

I hope this helps.
