These are what I used for my regear: Image
Parts were $700 with shipping to AK.
Originally quoted $1000 for all labor and a one year warranty from a local jeep guru.
Ended up paying $1,100 for the labor since the front hubs were completely rusted on.
PB blaster and an impact gun couldn't break the rusted bolts loose. Had to cut the old CV's in half and remove them that way: Image

Also had to find 6 new bolts to connect the hubs to the knuckle. Oreilys, auto-zone and Napa did not carry the size I was told was correct from the local jeep dealership.

If your dealership says the hub to knuckle bolts are a 12mm head and a 1.75"X43.00 bolt they're wrong. The head is a star shaped pattern and the bolts are ???.
My jeep guru figured it out though... Don't ask for the size cause I'll never know, sorry!

All the salt on the roads in upstate New York are the culprit since the original owner was a little old lady who drove 40,000 miles in only 6 years. I also had never driven through salt water in the ocean here in Alaska.

Anywho.

Total cost of the labor $1,100 + $700 in regear parts plus two new CV's and Hubs and I'm in
at a total of $2,200.00 bones.

I'll post up a review of what to expect with a regear done running 31's on 2.75" front and 2.5" rear lift.

Regear has gone well, I have 100 miles on the new ring and pinions.
Performs better for sure, shift points still aren't perfect but it's working as intended.

Paint matched a few interior dash portions to inferno red.
Looking at mig welders for the garage.
Next project is to install the CB I've had for ages in the cubby at the bottom of the center of the dash.

Shortly after that, I'm looking in to building cages for the interior rear windows so I can have lightweight camping items and non perishable foodstuffs affixed.

Probably going to use a old shopping cart and cut out the metal lattice to fit.

So I've ordered my welder, should be a few weeks with the free shipping to AK.
I've got some big projects for the welder.

Anyways here is a sneak peak as to what I am doing...
Take a guess!

looking forward to see the progress. How are the new gears? Any louder than stock? Mine have always whined until they got up to temp.

The gears work great, still looking at picking up a PCM flash from b&g performance to correct a few things but all in all they work good.

I've encountered zero noise from them at any point during my break in so far.
100 miles to go until 500 is reached.

Looks like I might have to postpone jeep stuff in order to get into a new hobby....

Picked up a 1940's M100 trailer:Image

Has a funky axle swap done to it, not sure what kind of axle.

This is what the trailer I now own looked like when I first saw it:
Image

The owner who ran a tow truck business was going to take it to the scrap yard.
Luckily, I came around and tossed him some cash and went on my way with it.

Someone a long time ago chopped hole in the front so their snowmobiles skis would fit through.
Image

When I first took it home I started scraping off layers of ice and dirt to see what I actually hand in my hands.

A few photos of that are: Image

The only thing on this trailer that's original is the tub, the tongue was modified, the axle has a diff so it's off of a vehicle. Still haven't identified which one.

I've removed the tailgate with the aid of some blunt force.
Everything is rusted together.

New lightbar came in, it's a 42" curved Auxbeam with Phillips LED's.
It's looking like a quality unit, wiring harness should be here Monday along with a few other gizmo's.

If you look inside the lenses you can see writing and it's not in Mandarin!

Cameras clearly cannot do any light source justice but this is definitely up there in output.
But it's a crisp pattern, seems to be more spot than flood but that's what I wanted.

Longevity MIG welder, along with the four magnetic squares for leveling
A Sperian face shield and five new 31x10.5 Goodyear authorities for the girlfriend's XJ.

Also picked up a ten pack of 4.5" 40 grit flap discs for $35, cutting discs and grinding discs for cheap at a local wholesale tool place called MTZ tools in Wasilla, AK.

Put into maybe an hour or two worth of time into grinding, pondering, wondering, and removing the ancient dry rotted tire and wheel.

The hubs still spin freely.
For a budget I may just put the leafs on top of the axle give it some por15 and run it until some axle less like timbren are more viable.

White, that's a cool old Jeep trailer you have there. I like that you can see beyond the rust to its real potential. And because of its lineage, it just belongs behind a real Jeep.

Thanks for chiming in.
This is a serious labor of love.
I might chop the tub in half (hamburger way) extend it to about 7'/7.5' and put in a bed, door, Windows and ventilation inside of it. It would have storage underneath the bed platform, led strips for lighting inside with fans. Around the fender flares I'll do will by tubing and platforms so I can attach fuel cans or whatever I'd like to the sides of it. build a removable rack so I can mount my soon to be dual sport on it and cruise around the base camp down the road.

Anywho, here are some more shots of it:

Sounds like an awesome game plan. Up there in AK you'll want to make it insulated for winter, and with window screens to keep out the black flies in spring. (If it's anything like eastern Canada/northern NH/ME. I haven't been to AK!)

I'm also building a military trailer up to be an overland camper with under-bed storage. Click the link in my sig for my build thread. I'm using an M116A3 which began its life as a generator hauler.

Looking forward to following your build.
