Hey I was just sort of curious about this. I am an engineer for an auto manufacturer and they do vehicles in vinyl for events. Looks like you and your friend did an extremely good job on yours. Actually just as good as if not better than what I see here. My question is how well this stuff holds up over the years. I see some of ours that get heavy use starting to bubble up in spots that get a bunch of sun exposure. It looks sick by the way...very original.
What materials are you using? How long it lasts all depends on how good of an install job was done and the quality of the materials. If the vehicle wasn't prepped properly and the material wasn't applied properly you will get bubbling over time. We took a lot of time and care in making sure the car was extra clean and all the wax and road grim was removed before we applied the vinyl. We also made sure to "set" the vinyl after the install. Setting vinyl is just going over it all again with a heat gun and making sure everything adhered to the truck. A lot of people will skip the "setting" step because it takes extra time and we all know time is money. We went for quality over time and price which why when you look at my truck close up it looks like it came from the factory that way. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions just ask!
You should send your event vehicles down here and let us wrap them!
