I don't think it will really be that much more stiff. I'd get the HD, it gives ya more lift :D[/quote]

it is that much more stiff. i drove around for 4 months without the bumper and had no give in the suspension. when i got the ARB and winch on the front the ride improved 10 fold. i had forgotten how it was supposed to feel, and i think i wore my tires unevenly in the process. but now that it is done i am glad i got the HD upgrade to compensate for the extra weight.

wow...new engine! I was going to chime in before I read that since I had a very similar problem twice in the first year of owning my used 03 sport. One day it began riding very rough. heavy hesitation, RPMs all over the board and then would stall at highway speeds...I'd have to limp my way over to the berm. The first time this happened, I was finishing a 1000 mile trip to the UP and it occured in my last 90 miles home. Stalled and pulled over on th turnpike in heavy traffic. this first time, my car was able to restart and I made it almost all the way home before it did the same thing again. RPMs up and down, lurching and finally stalling. It was about 15 miles to my house so I sat for a minute, started it back up and cruised the rest of the way home. I took it into the shop the next morning and they said I had blown a crank shaft position sensor. they replaced it and i was on my way. Literally one week later, I'm about to hop on the freeway to go home from work and my car exhibits the same symptoms...racing RPMs (with no foot on the pedal), lurching and rounning rough, with the constant feeling it was about to stall. Well it stalled as I sat in the middle lane during rush hour and a Indians game about to commence...this time, no starting up and going...it was dead as a door nail. It sounded like it wanted to turn over, but it never fired away. A motorcycle cop pushed me off to the side (horrible in bumper to bumper MLB traffic). I had to be towed home (36 miles) and I went back to the same shop. I get a call from them telling me I had another blown sensor, this time a different position sensor!!! wtf?!?! anyhow, they fixed that one under warranty as well and it has been perfect since...I couldn't believe that these two sensors went out 1 week apart and both basically induced the same exact symptoms and left me on the side of the road, with the only difference being, the crank shaft sensor allowed me to start the car back up and continue on my way...no such luck with the second sensor. (I'll look that fix up on my work order tonight - it escapes me now at work)

From the OP, it was sounding like one of those problems....now that he is getting a whole new engine for his 46K engine, that must have been a doozy of a problem he had...mine entailed putting in two $30 sensors, even though the car was out of commission from those two little guys.

Cant wait to hear his diagnosis...now, does Chrysler put in a spankin new engine or do they install refurbed or reworked engines...sorry if thats an utterly stupid question. I've never had a warranty issue that required a whole new engine, let alone one that enabled me to receive a new engine from the stealerships.

my dad talked to one of the service guys there. i guess the coolant mixed with the oil somehow. dont think it was the head gasket.(didnt talk to my dad very long) and with all the coolant with the oil the pistons/rings had no lube and pretty much self destructed lol.

which is wierd because this thing ran perfectly fine until the time that it shut off. no wierd running issues, no noticible smoke or anything out the back, hmmm

im getting a new short block, they are using my original heads. a little upset about that, but they said the heads were fine, it didnt overheat at all either so im sure they are ok.

just a little update thats all! they were still waiting on the engine as of monday morning/afternoon. so who knows when ill get it back :( and chrysler wont give rentals for "drivetrain" warranty repairs? WTF is that bullcrap. shoudnt matter what part is being fixed, its under warranty regardless of the part. so stupid

So they did put new heads on also thats great, due to the fact there would maybe be something wrong there as well. But at least its back out on the road! Now take it out and "fine tune it " on a long straight stretch!

NOW about that Ohio LOST gathering.........................

the engine actually doesnt "look" new when u look under the hood. but i saw the engine when it was out of the jeep and the block and heads are shiny new :) but they reused the plastic intake, valve covers, pullies etc. but i just drove around few minutes ago and put 10 on it hahaha

but if you look hard enough at the engine you can see the new block and heads lol
