Looks OK on a flat hood, but on the good looking KJs with the rounded hoods  you would have to install them in a different area to fit right

Yep, the structural framing is totally different too. That is what caused me to put the louvers where they are. Those were the best spots without the structural framing that I could cut and not have my hood turn into a floppy disk.

well it might be awhile before I can get pics posted I have a feeling the KJ is gonna be in the shop for a while :D I keep buying more mods for it, what did you use to install your louvers with? did you use the rivets? Im thinking I might try some SS bolts I cant decide

how long did it take you to get them?

I used the rivets that they came with. They were super easy and work great.

Hey guys, just wanted to pop in on this subject... Seeing the pics you guys has up have inspired me to look into some scoops for my kj... My only question is how does this mod act when parked as for as when its raining or snowing out? I'm up in New England where we get oh so the best consistant weather lol.... I don't have the luxury of a garage so it'll be sitting an taking what mother nature throws at it... Has anyone experianced any problems with water or melting snow getting thru when parked? Hope I can get feed back from guys with differant style vents... thanks guys...

I haven't had one problem, of course I drive through creeks , wash the engine so I see it as any different than that! Have driven through some rain where you couldn't even see to drive hardly , again no problems. I have had scoops/ louvers on other vehicles, and have never had any problems sitting out etc. Lot maybe depends on the location though as well. Also these newer engines are a lot better than ones with plug wires/ points & condensor setups

you should be fine the water isnt going to hurt your engine any, its not like there is going to be gallons and gallons of water running down through the louvers

I bought some SS bolts for my louvers, I got 17 so I have 1 extra and it cost me a little over $10!!

Well, I can say that I just drove 8 1/2 hours in constant pouring rain from NV to UT and no problems whatsoever. I used to detail cars and we would lift the hoods and lightly power wash the engine compartment. I can't see leaving it out in your driveway to be any worse than that. Here are some more pics of the new louvers.

I drilled a hole and then cut with a jigsaw. Worked like a dream.

I asked the Gen-Right guys if they wanted some pics of my kj with the louvers and they said yes. So we'll see if they put them on their website or not. Hope so.

That is quite the chunk of change. Poison Spyder does seem to have a knack for going all out though.
