Ive been on the website for little over a year now and it has influenced many of my mods. and purchases ive made for my kj. as of right now i've got a rough country 3" lift, 245 75 16 mtr's, custom back-up lights, 22in dual air horns, highland floor mats, custom grille insert I made, genuine steel black tail light guards, dual air intake ( I had to get it to make room in engine compartment for the air horns, and it does work, i went from avg.16.2mpg to 18.4 mpg). And what is waiting to get put on is an Arb bumper, Warn SDB-210 lights, Warn M8000, 160-amp alternator, and an arb air locker in the rear. here are a few pics of my rig right now.

Nice jeep! looks much tougher that mine... How's the intake sound? Did you get K&N filters or something else? Any down sides you notice from using it? I'm in a low dust area and might pick one of those up for the heck of it.

Well i will take a picture of the taillight guards, but as i was getting pulled out they got ripped off the rear bumper, so i need to rethink that approach. maybe mounting on top of present roof rack or somethin. and as for the air intake, it has two (from what i can tell) it is simply two red color paper filters, i will run those until time to change to a K&N, and the sound is a noticeble sucking sound, very cool. it isnt very loud inside the cabin but with a/c low, and stereo off you can hear it well. I'll also take pictures of the intake installed and also the air horns. i havent noticed any downfall in the intake.

Hood if you wouldn't mind sharing how did you make the grille inserts. I've been thinking about getting or making some but don't know where to start on designing some and I don't wanna pay 100+ for lunds or something. I also don't want to pay 20 bucks for one off ebay and have it turn out to be mesh that you have cut yourself.

I would love to share. Well i saw some mesh at auto zone and I got to thinking about it, so i went to lowes and bought 2 sheets of expanded sheet metal. i took off the front end and removed the normal grill insert, i then layed it out on the work bench and layed in the sheet metal, i had to take some wire snips to trim to fit exactly, it only takes about 1 1/2 sheets or exp. metal then i had to trim some on the front end in front of the radiator (plastic) then about 2 days later i noticed it had rusted already and not even any rain! i took them back out got the rust off and rattle canned 2 coats of primer, and some high gloss chrome spray paint, 3 coats off that and 24 hours of drying and there you have it. grille insert with about 35 bucks. if you need any pictutes off the pieces i trimmed i will take some... just let me know.

Nice idea on the grill. I did that once on my neon but used Rain Gutter Screen from Home Depot instead, which I believe is basically the same thing

OK. now Ive got pictures so it should be more clear, keep in mind this is on a 2003 limited 3.7l i dont know if it changes anything. this is how i did it.

1. Make your jeep look like this ( remove 4 screws above radiator, and headlights)
Image

2.grind down plastic on grille insert supports ( 3 plastic protrusions(?) on all four supports) edge of golf club.
Image

3.trim your expanded sheet metal to look somethin like this. with wire snips. and prime it with kilz or other primer with 3 coats. then 2 coats of rustoleom metallic finish.

Image

4.what i used

Image

5.overlap them so that where they meet is behind a grille colum.

Image

6.You will have something like this left over. . ( it's For sale! )

Image

7. you should have a finished product something like this.

Image

any moer questions just let me know
