Okay guys i couldnt have picked a better time to go up to silverton and trail ride in my oipinion....The fall foliage was absolutly incredible and there were hardly tourists where we went, but i suppose a lift had something to do with that. You Start out right at the Black Bear Trail Head and ascend the trail for about half a mile and find a fork...go left at the fork to start Bullion King Lake Trail or go right at the fork to continue on to Black Bear Pass. When traveling along Bullion there are several puddle and small river crossings before you climb up a steep shale hill. It is steep and dont underestimate the lose rock. After the shale hill you come to this 1/4 mile of very narrow single track trail and becareful here, there is a very fall down the side which will destroy anything. After this narrow track you come to more river crossings and abandoned mines and collapsed housing, at this point it is incredibley windy so make sure you have a sweater. You climb a series of large rocks and calcium deposits to get to the parking where you'll have to hike from here to get to the glacial lakes. If there is anything else you'd like to know just lemme know. Oh and this is on US 550 just outside of Silverton. Now which one to post for the PIc of the Month???

Post that 3rd pic down (KJ in stream bed with folliage in back) for the October ROTM contest and it has my vote (provided I don't get a pic myself when I go to Albuquerque next weekend). Just try to get rid of the cardomain logo - it takes so much away from a beautiful picture...

Good question. Are the ones seeing the CD logo, members of CD? I use/member of CD. I have not done anything to modify to not see it.
