I like it! So how did you paint the rims? Is it durable\ scratch resistant?

It's a wheel paint by duplicolor....
I sanded the hell out of the rims with medium to fine sand paper
(these rims have 113,000 miles on them) so they were all scratched etc...
Sanded till all smooth..... and so the paint would stick...
as far as durability... so far so good... Plus they are black so any scratch can be covered with a black paint pen...
I couldn't be happier w/ the end result..

That is one nice KJ you have there! What are you planning on doing with the front bumper? It would look even better if you tint your tail lights and 3rd brake light.

Those wheels and line-x look like they need to get a couple scratches on them...

I will have to say awesome job man. That might be worth trying on my extra set of wheels, nobody wants them anyway.

I took a rock on the expressway last week and chipped my grille. Lin-X wanted way too much money to spray it.
Used herculiner on mine and It looks GREAT.

Is yours still chrome?

Yeah I checked into Herculiner, Rhino lining Ect... But I just had to go with the Line-X. It t has a smoother feel than Herculiner. Plus I think the spray on Line-X is more uniform on larger areas. The grill looks good though WoodysKJ.

On a different Post someone else asked me if it was Rhino Lined.
I posted:

"I don't want to upset anyone so I'll say it nicely.
No It Is not Rhino lined

It is Line-Xed w/UV protection
Ya know the stuff that the military uses.

There is a huge difference, and if you don't believe me check into it.
It is a completely different material.
The Rhino lining is a lot more rubbery, and is less durrable.

Plus the quote I got from the rhino place was more expensive.

They both have a lifetime warranty, I think.
But WoW what a difference
My buddy has his F150 rhino lined. He hates it".

AND!... now line-x has a material available with a Dupont Kevlar compound in it... I wish I would have waited a year.. oh well...

Thanks for the replies.
Chris

Looks great!

I did similar pieces with duplicolor on my truck. They looked great but after a year they looked like hell, the durability on that stuff isn't too good.

Well If it lasts half that long I would be suprised.. I mean It is spray paint.. :D
But on the plus side it cost less that $40 to do all of the wheels...
These rims are out the door in a year or so anyway. I just wanted black rims Right now, and I had $40 in my pocket... I'm trying to save up for the ARB bull bar, so 200-500 for new rims was out of the question for me..
Thanks for the comments
Chris

That looks really good. Where those wheels originally the chrome colored ones or are they the gray colored ones from a Renegade?
