24th Appalachain Jeep Jamboree at Tellico ORV near Murphy NC Oct 13 & 14... There were three of us there representing KJ and impressing all who witnessed us breezing thru the trails... All equipped with Rusty's 2.5 and 31's.... 2 '04s and an 05 CRD. No strapping or body damage and we all can cruise home at 80mph or so!

The rack is a Smittybuilt that I think they discontinued. Attached to Mopar crossrails. That thing howls on the highway but it'll hold 150lbs of gear and it kept my CB antenna on like a champ. |

Congrats! I've read where a lot of KJs get banged out pretty badly at Tellico. Glad you all made it out unscathed. |

Yup, the Blue one is mine. We ran trails #4, #5, and #6 (Total difficulty level 4-5 to 6-7 on a 1 - 10 scale). Maybe not totally damage free (I bent the rear diff cover edge and came down on the right rock rail hard enough to relocate it a little), but all-in-all it went very well. The trail guides said that it was the first time that a Jeep 101 group had gone through Tellico with NOBODY needing to be strapped or winched. Lots of very capable JKs and TJs around, but as Jbzhow said not many of the other participants could cruise back to ATL at 80 mph AND still get 18 mpg!!! |
