If that's the vinyl sticker type, I installed one also (cutout said Liberty). Looked great for awhile but the summer heat finally bubbled the heck out of it so I wanted to remove it. Got the great idea to spray paint it black first so that when I removed the decal I would have the word Liberty in black with red around it, opposite what was there. Anyway, removing the decal was really difficult and I messed up the paint so I figured I'd wipe it off with paint remover. I sort of figured that it would screw up the lens and I would end up buying a new one anyway so I took a shot. Funny thing was the spray paint had eaten into the plastic slightly, more like fogged it really good. So after I managed to wipe off the leftover glue from the decal and also got rid of the paint (combination of laquer thinner and brake cleaner and contact cleaner - glue was a pain) I was left with a perfect lens except that where the black paint was stayed fogged. Now I have the word Liberty fogged/etched into the lens and it looks really cool! Couldn't have done that if I tried! Quote: now I am looking for a small peice of carbon fiber vinyl to do that with. Goto a motorcycle dealer and ask for gas tank or body work protective sheeting. They sell it or can order it in sheets about 10x12" or so in clear, black, or carbon look vinyl with sticky back. Most places that carry dirt bikes have it in stock.

Quote: is that legal? Is what legal? Masking the 3rd brake light? If that's what ure asking, in NY it's legal as long as your brake lights are clearly visible from, I believe, 500' away. Quote: Cacher123 wrote:

I'll try, but since it's like glass etching it's really subtle and may not photograph well. ![]() Didn't photograph to well but u get the idea. ![]() |

Can you snap a night time shot with the light on? I'm just curious if it is visible at all. Thanks |
