Can everyone who has done a 2.5" lift and put on the Rubi wheels and tires post a picture of it here? I'm trying to convince my folks that it's not too radical and the pictures would help! Thanks a lot!

Well mission partially accomplished 8) . My parents decided that it doesn't look "too ridiculous." Hopefully when I go in to get my oil changed and alignment done the dealer will say that it's okay to have a life installed. Otherwise it looks like I'll get shot down

The dealer said it was ok?? What dealer do you go to?

No I accidentally said have a life installed  .. I'm not sure what the dealer will say .. my guess is no because it's not a mopar part. I'm sure they would install a borla(considered mopar) exhaust .. but we'll see on the lift. supposed to take it in early next week :!:

Getting a dealer to say it is okay to lift a Jeep is easy. Getting them to install it is another story entirely. Which are you trying to do? And why do you need permission from the dealer? Is this for warranty issues or what?

Just ask around and find out what the most "lift friendly" dealership is in your area. Here in Colorado they sell them off the lots with lifts already installed.

Well I was actually hoping that they would be willing to install one. Usually they're happy to take your money for that sort of thing  . I don't recall seeing any customized KJ's on the lot when we bought mine (with the exception of mopar parts like the tail lamp guards and mudflaps etc...). They were happy to install the mopar light bar .. but that's another story.

If they won't install it I just want to see what their take on it is. The problem is that my mom has been buying dodge/chrysler minivans from them for so long (yes I know .. LAME .. not my choice  ) .. So if they're opposed I think I might get shut down by the parental unit. :? ( Unless I want to pay for repairs on parts that aren't covered by warrenty if I was to wreck. That would be a problem because I can't have a job during the school year and I only made 1,400 dollars last summer for gas and everythign else :( )

Well, if you WRECK the damage isn't covered under warranty anyway. Warranties cover defective parts, not ones that you damage. That's when your insurance kicks in.

Secondly, the only part of your warranty that's affected by a lift are parts directly related to it. For instance, they can't refuse to replace a bad radio, but they could refuse to replace a blown shock (but you wouldn't want their junk anyway).

Read up on the Magnuson-Moss Act. It states your rights as a consumer. Google it...

Yeah that's what I meant. Hopefully it turns out well. Unfortunately my dad is actually an auto insurance executive so he knows all the stats about teenage drivers and certian types of cars .. so if they say one bad thing I'm screwed. :(

Flippin insurance statistics
