Frankenlifted with Moabs

Finally got the Frankenlift II Premium, Al's upper arms, and Moabs with 245/75R16 Load C Silent Armors installed. Still need to get the extra set of rear isolators installed. Sorry my phone doesn't take the greates pictures, but these will give you the idea.

Looks great. Is that a custom hood or is that available?

Thanks for the compliment. The hood was made from the mold for a 2003 SEMA show vehicle by Profinish-Proglass. You'd have to talk to Terry to see if he can make one for you. Mine was a one off. I had to wait about 6 months for him to have enough extra fiberglass left over from a big job.

They're all identical 2005's. My phone just takes very bad pictures.

Edit:

I just went out and looked. You're right. The front left is different from the others. Going to contact the person that claimed they were off a 2005 Rubicon with 200 miles on it right now.

Are these a different year, or are the Ebay knock offs that sell for $119 each or $499 for 5 brand new?

Is the spare a mismatched wheel like the front left one? If not, I would just switch the spare with the front left wheel and not worry about it. If it is, I would complain to the guy who sold them to you.

We figured it out over in the general forum. Looks like I have 3 '06 rims and 1 '04-'05 rim. I just purchased another '06 rim since I didn't have the spare yet, and I'm trying to get in contact with the seller to see what they can do about the mismatched rim. If I have to I'll put it on as the spare, but I would prefer to be able to do 5 wheel rotations.

i love your hood. I think it looks best on silver/white since i dont think it'd come out so good on my black renny. love it though, bummer on the wheels, keep us updated

How do you like the bigger tires and the rims with less BS? Did the bigger tires take away much performance? Rims make it handle any better?

Ill tell my bro that lives in lex to keep an eye out for your liberty now. He always told me when he saw it before(I told him about the hood), but now he needs to see it again with the rims+lift!

I really like the way it looks now. The FLIIP is very nice. The bigger, heavier tires did take away some performance, but it was ridiculous before. It's got plenty of get up and go still. It handles and rides extremely well for a lifted Jeep. It doesn't handle as well as before, but it had sagged by about an inch and had an extra inch of width because of the 7.5" wide rims. It also had Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks and struts that really improved the ride and handling over stock. I'll get some better pics up once I get the wheels taken care of. The camera in my phone is pathetic. I really like the Silent Armors. You would never guess they're as aggressive as they are from riding in it. They do great in the rain. Not even a hint of trying to hydroplane in the torrential rain today while going 60 mph. Can't wait to test them on the ski trips.

Silent Armors rock. I don't like many of Goodyear's tires...but the Silent Armors are probably the best A/T on the market. you'll have FUN this winter:D

Oh yeah...the rest of your Jeep looks wicked, too:D

I usually don't like Good4ayears either. I think these Silent Armors have converted me though. Can't wait to try them in the snow. Should do really well considering they're severe snow rated and have 16/32" tread. Can't believe how smooth and quiet they are considering how they look. They seem to have balanced really well also with the ceramic beads. We'll see if it keeps them balanced forever like advertised.

as long as you rotate regularly, tires shouldn't *need* to be balanced every rotation (on a typical high quality tire...the junk...well...they don't stay balanced)

The ceramic beads are actually supposed to continuously balance the tires using centrifigal force. Supposedly they will never need to be balanced again. They are also supposed to balance the tires from temporary conditions such as snow and mud.

I had never heard of it either. Really had my doubts, but like I said, the guys at the tire store down the street from my office are really cool. They said that a guy with a big lifted Dodge pickup came in after trying to get his tires balanced at a few other places with no luck. They took off the weights, and put in the ceramic beads. He came back a few days later praising them. Mine seem to be balanced extremely well also. Definately think it was worth the extra $15 per tire. I also got lifetime free rotations, which is good since it's about impossible to get a perfect alignment after being lifted.

Yeah, on anything bigger than a 33" tire you'd wanna do that, because otherwise they just take too much f'ing weight.

It's actually the S&S Tire on Southland Dr. They were a little more expensive on the tires than Tirerack. $180 per tire instead of $160 per tire after shipping. However, I was able to talk to them half a dozen times and get good advice before I purchased. Ended up at about $870 out the door, mounted, ceramic bead balanced, aligned, and taxed. They could have told me to have my Jeep towed back to where the lift was done improperly, but actually fixed the front end while doing the alignment and didn't charge me any extra. I'm more than happy to pay a tiny bit extra to get great service, and support the local economy. It is also very convenient since they are just down the street from my office. I really like working with people who have a similar work ethic as me. I come in early every day, stay late most days, remote in and work at night, and work most weekends. Kind of a workaholic. Ask any of my ex-girlfriends. I just have to get at least one day of skiing in each weekend during the winter, and get out to the range for a few hours a couple times a month the rest of the year and I'm ok, but I really need to do something about it. Just getting to stressed out.
